The 2007-2008 school year has come to an end. As we look back on the past year, we can see how much we’ve accomplished together. The boys’ and girls’ volleyball and basketball teams were very successful in their respective leagues, which ran from August to March.

Academically, we learned functions in math; read novels in language arts; and who could forget the science fair that consumed much of our time. Several students every quarter have achieved honor and high honor roll. Some, just this past quarter, attained this distinction for the first time. The class is looking forward to the many challenges that face them next year as 8th graders.

Some of the highlights of the past year include our field trips to two museums. We also took a field trip to the Morning Star Mission in Joliet. There we sorted gifts to be distributed to families at Christmas. This was for our BEST service project. The students were greatly affected by this very generous act of giving.
Our final trip was to the Creamery—it was the 5th annual trip. It is to bond as the new, upcoming 8th grade class.

The year ended with the 8th Grade Graduation Banquet in May. The hard working 7th grade parents organized an exciting evening for the graduates and their families, as well as the teachers and staff of St. Mary. The seventh graders did their part as the wait-staff for the evening. They did a wonderful job of serving and cleaning up after the banquet.

Seventh grade was filled with many memories and challenges. We feel more than ready to take on the role as leaders of the school next year. We look forward to being the most involved 8th grad
