2007-2008 was a busy and exciting year in third grade. The highlight of the year was the reception of two Sacraments-Reconciliation on December 1, 2007, and Holy Eucharist on May 3, 2008. The students also completed a service project in April for Earth Day. They decorated and sold heavy duty tote bags to replace paper or plastic shopping bags. The resulting profit of $182.50 was donated to Keep America Beautiful.
Following are some academic achievements from the year
*learning to multiply and divide.
*memorizing the Ten Commandments and Apostles’ Creed.
*working in groups.
*researching and writing a state report.
*writing in cursive.
*composing haikus, narratives, and hink pinks.
*reciting nine digit numbers.
*reading lots of novels.
*learning about the solar system.
*looking up Bible verses.
*writing multi-paragraph stories.
The Third Graders would like to thank Father Jim. Mrs. Rozgo, the faculty, their parents, and families for all their prayers, help, and support this year.
Parents, please remind your children to read and write every day this summer. Get him or her a Journal to record the day’s events. Plan weekly trips to the library. Practice multiplication facts on those long car trips.. Fourth Grade is only weeks away. Have a great summer!
